Monty all set for eighth European crown

SOTOGRANDE, Spain (AFP) — Colin Montgomerie all but sealed a record eighth European Order of Merit title at the Volvo Masters when he moved eight shots clear of Michael Campbell the only man left who can deny him.
The 42-year-old Scot was five shots ahead of the New Zealander at the start of the day and after another magnificent five-under 66 he added three strokes to the mountain left for Campbell to climb at the weekend.
The US Open champion did little wrong, however, hitting five birdies and three bogeys for a two-under 69, three shots better than his opening round.
