Britain's BT Group snaps up small IT company

LONDON (AFP) — British telecoms operator BT Group said it had bought technology group Total Network Solutions (TNS) for an undisclosed sum.
The telecoms giant said the acquisition of small peer TNS would strengthen its position as a leading provider of IT networks.
TNS employs 92 people, all of whom will be taken on by BT under terms of the deal. The group is based in Oswestry in Shropshire, mid-west England.
"TNS further enhances the range of solutions that BT can provide to its customers, enabling them to thrive in the digital networked economy," said Tom Craig, president of IP networking at BT.
