BERLIN (AFP) — New Williams recruit Nico Rosberg admits his father, ex Formula One champion Keke, is a major inspiration in his career but cited Finland's two-time world champion Mika Hakkinen as his idol.

Rosberg, 20, will join Mark Webber at Williams for next season after agreeing on Thursday to a long-term contract that will see him follow in the footsteps of his Finnish father Keke, who won the 1982 Formula One world championship with Williams.

"I look up to my father because he came from nowhere and achieved a lot," Rosberg said in an interview with German sports agency SID.
