Kingdom, Powell top list of US Athletics honorees

NEW YORK, Nov 3 (AFP) — World record long jumper Mike Powell and two-time Olympic hurdles champion Roger Kingdom were among seven people announced here as inductees into the United States Track and Field Hall of Fame.
Other inductees into the American athletics shrine include college athletics coach John McDonnell and veteran athletes Wes Santee, Earlene Brown, Jim Fuchs and Fred Wolcott.
An induction ceremony will be conducted December 1 at Jacksonville, Florida.
"These remarkable individuals have made tremendous contributions to the legacy of USA Track and Field and I congratulate them for all their accomplishments," USA Track and Field president Bill Roe said.
