Colin Farrell, Scarlett Johansson to revive Borgia dynasty on screen

LOS ANGELES (AFP) — Irish actor Colin Farrell and US starlet Scarlett Johansson will reincarnate Italy's 15th century Borgia family dynasty in a new film to be directed by fellow Irishman Neil Jordan, according to a report.
The drama "Borgia," which "Crying Game" filmmaker Jordan has been planning for years, will focus on the rise to the papacy of Cardinal Rodrigo Borgia in 1492 and the intrigues and internal conflicts that surrounded his powerful family.
"Lost in Translation" star Johansson will play Rodrigo's legendary daughter, Lucrezia Borgia, while "Alexander" heartthrob Farrell, 29, will play her manipulative and duplicitous brother Cesare, Daily Variety reported.
When he becomes pope, Rodrigo who has a collection of illegitimate children, moves to consolidate his power by empowering and alienating various members of his family.
