France's Berrou honored with Marconi Prize
NEW YORK (AFP) — Claude Berrou has been awarded the 2005 Marconi Prize for developing a technology widely used in the telecommunications sector, the first time a French scientist received the honor.
The prize was instituted 31 years ago by a US foundation bearing the name of Italian Guglielmo Marconi, the 19th century inventor of the radio.
