Harry Potter promises box office magic again this weekend

LOS ANGELES (AFP) — The release this weekend of the newest Harry Potter film is already spinning magic through the US box office, a leading online ticket seller said.

Tickets for "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire", slated to open at midnight Thursday, were already being snapped up for the weekend in record numbers, said Fandango, the largest US movie ticket seller.

The newest Potter flick, which for the first time has a romantic plot line for Harry, has sold faster than any of its three predecessors, the company said, and accounted for 93 percent of all the tickets it sold this week.

"Audiences are rooting for Harry this weekend -- and the buzz is tremendous," said Fandango president Art Levitt.

However, sales were not as fast as the summer...
