Second magical box office week for Harry Potter

LOS ANGELES (AFP) — For the second weekend in a row, "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" has left its North American box office competitors far in its wake, preliminary figures showed.

The fourth and most frightening film in the top-selling Harry Potter franchise was expected to take in 54.9 million dollars in ticket sales for the Friday through Sunday period, according to California-based box office tracker Exhibitor Relations.

That would bring the "Goblet of Fire" total since its release ten days ago to 201 million dollars, making it one of the year's best-selling movies.

Ambling along in Harry Potter's wake was the biopic of the late country music star Johnny Cash, "Walk the Line," which took in an estimated 19.7 million.
