Kiwi Campbell shines at Tiger's Target World Challenge

THOUSAND OAKS, United States (AFP) — New Zealand's US Open champion Michael Campbell grabbed the first round lead at the Target World Challenge, stealing the spotlight from host and defending champ Tiger Woods.
Campbell fired a course record-tying nine-under-par 63 to take a two-shot lead after the opening round of the 5.5 million-dollar unofficial event at Sherwood Country Club.
Campbell led Northern Ireland's Darren Clarke by two shots with last year's runner-up, Padraig Harrington of Ireland, another three shots back on 68.
"I just went out there and played great," Campbell said. "Every fairway seemed like twice as wide, the hole as big as a bucket. Yeah, the greens seemed to be twice as big.
