Michael Andretti to drive in 2006 Indy 500

INDIANAPOLIS, United States (AFP) — Michael and Marco Andretti will make the 2006 Indianapolis 500 a famous family affair.
It will mark the first time an Andretti will be in the field since 2003, when Michael Andretti last drove in the race before focusing entirely on his co-ownership role at Andretti Green Racing.
He led twice for 28 laps during that race before a broken throttle linkage ended his day after 94 laps. He placed 27th.
Marco Andretti, the 18-year-old son of Michael and grandson of US racing legend Mario Andretti, is already slated to drive for Andretti Green Racing for the entire 2006 IndyCar season.
