WARSAW (AFP) — The South Korean company LG Electronics plans to build a plant in Poland producing refrigerators and washing machines at a cost of about 77 million dollars (65 million euros), the government in Warsaw said.
"The planned investment amounts to 249 million zlotys and will create about 910 new jobs," a statement said.
Earlier in the day the government had approved a financial aid package for the project, details of which were not revealed.
The plants will be built at Kobierzyce in the southwest of the country, where LG Philips LCD, a joint undertaking by LG Electronics and the Dutch company Philips, has already decided to build a liquid crystal screen plant at a cost of 500 million dollars (425 million euros).
