Pop megastar Elton John's 'marriage' certificate released

LONDON (AFP) — The certificate indicating the civil union of British pop megastar Elton John and his partner David Furnish was released after the pair tied the knot at a glittering "wedding" ceremony last week.

The document reveals the singer's middle name is Hercules. John, 58, was born Reginald Kenneth Dwight but changed his name by deed poll.

His occupation is listed as musician while Furnish, a 43-year-old Canadian, is described as a film maker.

The mothers of both men -- Sheila Farebrother and Gladys Furnish -- are named as official witnesses.
