LONDON (AFP) — British utility Scottish Power announced the appointment of Philip Bowman, former head of drinks group Allied Domecq, as its new chief executive.
Bowman would succeed Ian Russell, who has worked at the energy group for 11 years as financial director and then chief executive. The new appointment takes effect from January 16, the company said in an official statement.
Scottish Power also indicated that the sale of its US unit PacifiCorp was proceeding on schedule, while it expected to deliver a strong set of results for the full year.
Allied Domecq was bought by French beverages giant Pernod Ricard last year in a deal worth some 7.4 billion pounds (10.7 billion euros, 13.9 billion dollars).
