Croatia's Kostelic wins first ever super-G to join elite group

BAD KLEINKIRCHHEIM, Austria (AFP) — Croatia's Janica Kostelic has won her first ever World Cup super-G here to join an elite group of women who have won all five World Cup events.

Kostelic clocked 1min 9.41sec compared to the 1:09:51 of Michaela Dortmeister and Alexandra Meissnitzer who finished equal second.

The three-time Olympic champion won her first ever giant slalom in December, her first ever downhill here on Saturday, and her first ever super-G on Sunday and has won 24 times on the World Cup circuit.

Kostelic joins Austria's Petra Kronberger and Sweden's Pernilla Wiberg as the only other skiers to have won all five World Cup events of slalom, giant slalom, super-G, downhill and combined.
