Google buys digital radio ad firm

MOUNTAIN VIEW, United States (AFP) — Internet search leader Google said it had agreed to buy dMarc Broadcasting Inc., a developer of digital advertising technology for radio, for 102 million dollars.

Google said the cash deal could reach as high as 1.136 billion dollars over the next three years if the Newport Beach, California-based dMarc Broadcasting meets performance targets.

The search titan, which is busily expanding into an Internet behemoth, said it plans to integrate dMarc technology into its "AdWords" platform, creating a new radio ad distribution channel for Google advertisers.
