US sells out World Cup allocation before public sale.

CHICAGO (AFP) — Americans might finally be figuring out what this World Cup football thing is all about.
US Soccer announced Tuesday that its allocation of fewer than 10,000 tickets for June's first-round group matches at the World Cup finals in Germany had been completely sold out in an initial private website offering to supporters.
US Soccer has asked FIFA for tickets beyond its eight percent of capacity allotment for matches against the Czech Republic on June 12 at Gelsenkirchen, June 17 against Italy at Kaiserslautern and June 22 against Ghana at Nuremberg.
But even if FIFA favors US Soccer, a public sale of tickets to US matches is unlikely. The American governing body received requests for almost 40,000 tickets from supporters in all 50 states plus US...
