Donald Trump sues author who questioned his billionaire status

NEW YORK (AFP) — Flamboyant New York property tycoon and reality TV star Donald Trump has launched a five-billion-dollar lawsuit against the author and publisher of a book that had the audacity to challenge his billionaire status.
In a press release Tuesday, Trump said the book, "TrumpNation: The Art of Being the Donald," made "egregiously false" and malicious statements about Trump, his family, his personal life and his business dealings.
Trump's lawsuit, filed Monday in state court in New Jersey, seeks 2.5 billion dollars in compensatory damages and 2.5 billion dollars in punitive damages against the author, New York Times reporter Timothy O'Brien, and the publisher, Warner Books Inc.
