GLASGOW (AFP) — A last gasp Shaun Maloney goal allowed Celtic to clinch a scarcely-deserved place in the Scottish League Cup final with a 2-1 win over Motherwell.

Terry Butcher's Fir Park side had deservedly taken an early lead through Irish forward Richie Foran but Celtic had levelled things before the break through Polish international Maciej Zurawski.

Motherwell then went on to dominate much of the remainder of the game but with only two minutes later Maloney scored a dramatic winner to take Gordon Strachan's side through to the final against Dunfermline on Sunday, March 19.

Both sides had started the match nervously with neither able to test create a single goal scoring opportunity in the first 10 minutes.
