Two Koreas agree to resume high-level military talks

SEOUL (AFP) — South and North Korea are to resume high-level military talks by early March on easing tension along the world's last Cold War frontier, officials said.
The agreement came at colonel-level military talks at the truce village of Panmunjom, the only inter-Korean contact point in the buffer zone that divides the two countries, the South's defense ministry said.
"South and North Korea agreed to hold a third round of general-level military talks for two days between late February and early March," the ministry said in a statement, adding that it would take place in Panmunjom.
Though North Korea is currently boycotting six-way talks on ending its nuclear weapons drive, it is continuing economic and regular ministerial talks with the South Koreans.
