Briton arrested over murder of wife, daughter in US

LONDON (AFP) — A debt-ridden British man is believed to have shot dead his US wife and nine-month-old daughter in a failed murder-suicide pact before fleeing the country, US authorities said.

Neil Entwistle, 27, is thought to have landed in financial difficulties after moving to the United States with his teacher wife, Rachel, also 27, and their daughter, Lillian, having failed in a number of business and Internet ventures.

The bodies of Rachel and Lillian were found in bed at their home in Hopkinton, near Boston, on January 22, sparking a trans-Atlantic manhunt for computer engineer Entwistle, who disappeared.

He was arrested at a London Underground station Thursday morning on suspicion of murder after US authorities obtained an extradition arrest warrant....
