All bets off on Le Guen as next Rangers boss

GLASGOW (AFP) — British bookmakers are refusing to take any bets on Frenchman Paul Le Guen becoming the next manager of Rangers.

David Murry, the Rangers chairman, has said he knows the identity of the man who will take over from Alex McLeish at the end of the season and the bookies are convinced it will be the former Lyon boss.

"It seems to be the case that Le Guen has been lined up to replace McLeish so we don't believe it is possible to open a book at this stage," said a spokesman for William Hill.

Scottish media have reported that Murray and Le Guen held talks over the managerial post at Ibrox in November and Friday's Daily Record claimed the Frenchman may already have agreed in principle to take the job.
