Oberholser joins Weir atop Pebble Beach leaderboard

PEBBLE BEACH, California (AFP) — Canadian Mike Weir fired a three-under 69 on the tough Spyglass Hill course to maintain a share of the lead with Arron Oberholser at the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.
Oberholser shot a six-under 66 on the Pebble Beach links, as players completed their rotation of the three courses in use for the tournament and the cut for the final round was made.
Both were at 17-under 199, six strokes ahead of England's Luke Donald.
Weir, who has struggled at Spyglass in the past, wasn't worried about losing sole possession of the lead. He was just glad to still have a share of first, especially in the most difficult conditions of the week.
"The wind was blowing pretty hard," Weir said. "I was pretty happy with 69."
