Judge Judy immortalised on Hollywood's Walk of Fame

LOS ANGELES (AFP) — The world famous actors and singers immortalised on Hollywood's Walk of Fame got an unusual addition to their ranks when television's Judge Judy Sheindlin was awarded her own star.

The straight-shooting New York judge-turned-TV-adjudicator saw her name unveiled as the 2,304th star on the pavement of Hollywood Boulevard to mark the 10th anniversary of her show, "Judge Judy."

The star lies next to that of Sheindlin's legendary friend, Sidney Poitier, the first black man to receive the best actor Oscar.

"This was the best way to celebrate Valentine's Day," Sheindlin said. "Can you think of a topper? What am I going to do next year to top this?"
