India's Kingfisher Airlines signs deal for 15 ATR 72-500

NEW DELHI (AFP) — India's private Kingfisher Airlines has signed a deal to purchase 15 ATR 72-500 aircraft for 270 million dollars, with the option to buy another 20, an ATR statement said.

"Kingfisher Airlines, which placed a firm order to buy 20 new ATR 72-500s and 15 options in November 2005, today announced conversion of the 15 ATR 72-500s options to a firm order plus an additional 20 options," the Toulouse-based company said.

"The value of the contract excluding options is around 270 million dollars. The additional aircraft are scheduled to be delivered from 2007 onwards."

The deal was signed by ATR chief executive Filippo Bagnato and Kingfisher managing director Vijay Mallya in the presence of French President Jacques Chirac who arrived in India Sunday...
