Australian basketball star Jackson heads for South Korean club

SYDNEY (AFP) — Australian women's basketball star Lauren Jackson announced she had signed a lucrative three-season deal with a South Korean club.
Jackson, 24, considered one of the world's top women's basketball players, did not name the South Korean team, saying the formal announcement would be made by the club.
She said she would quit the Australian league to turn out in South Korea but would continue playing for the Seattle Storm in the US WNBA.
Jackson told Australia's national AAP news agency that the shorter season in South Korea was attractive given her recent problems with shin stress fractures.
