Pamela Anderson to host Canada's music awards

OTTAWA (AFP) — Actress and heartthrob Pamela Anderson will host Canada's music awards in early April, organizers announced.

"Canadian music rocks," Anderson, who was raised in Ladysmith on Canada's Pacific coast, said in a statement.

"No matter where I am in the world I can listen to Canadian music and feel like I'm at home. This is going to be one kick-ass awards show."

The 2006 Juno Awards will be broadcast live only in Canada from Halifax on April 2 and will feature performances by homegrown acts Bedouin Soundclash, Broken Social Scene, Bryan Adams, Michael Buble and Nickelback.

Britain's Coldplay, up for best international band award, will also hit the stage.
