Aussie Pampling holds on for PGA win as England's Owen falters

MIAMI (AFP) — Australian Rod Pampling struggled at the end but held off Greg Owen thanks to a collapse by the Englishman to win the PGA Bay Hill Invitational by one stroke.
Pampling took a double-bogey at the 13th hole and squandered a birdie at the 15th with a bogey at 17, but finished with a final-round par 72 to complete 72 holes on 14-under par 274.
Owen made a magnificent run with six birdies in the first 16 holes to grab the lead, but a double bogey at the par-3 17th and a bogrey at the 18th left him one shot adrift despite a closing 69.
Northern Ireland's Darren Clarke was third on 276 after a final-round 70, bolstered by an eagle at the par-5 sixth hole and back-to-back birdies at 13 and 14.
