Ferrari avoid wing debate as teams continue to protest after Malaysian GP

SEPANG, Malaysia (AFP) — Ferrari team chief Jean Todt has refused to comment on whether the team will bow to pressure and change controversial elements of their car in time for the Australian Grand Prix.

The front wing of the team's 248 F1 car had come under intense scrutiny over race weekend in Malaysia with television pictures showing that it was flexing when the car was being driven at high speed.

This prompted eight rival teams to write to the sport's governing body, the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile, before the race, asking that the rules be clarified ahead of the next event in Melbourne to ensure that Ferrari were obtaining an unfair advantage by continuing to use the element.
