LOS ANGELES (AFP) — Superstar Tom Cruise took to the skies in a vintage World War II plane at the weekend as his fiancee Katie Holmes prepared to give birth to their eagerly anticipated baby, a report said.
The "Top Gun" and "Mission Impossible" movie star piloted his 63-year-old P-51 Mustang fighter out of a Los Angeles airport on Saturday as he went on a high-flying jaunt, according to celebrity website TMZ.
Cruise, a flying enthusiast, owns the refurbished 1943 plane but had a co-pilot on hand for the flight, said the website that offered film of the airborne superstar taking off in the plane.
Cruise, 43, and his 26-year-old actress fiancee Holmes, are expecting their first baby any day now.
