Protester heckles Chinese president at White House

WASHINGTON (AFP) — A Falungong protestor heckled President Hu Jintao on the White House lawn, embarrassing President George W. Bush and Hu during the Chinese leader's first official visit to the United States.

"Falun Dafa is good!" the woman shouted repeatedly, referring to the Falungong spiritual movement China banned in 1999, as Hu was making opening remarks following a lavish welcoming ceremony on the White House lawn.

Meanwhile, outside the White House, fellow Falungong protestors joined some 500 other demonstrators, including Taiwanese, in decrying China's policies. "China: Hands off Taiwan" one banner said.

The Falungong protestor on the White House lawn was so loud that Bush, who was standing next to Hu, turned to look, appearing visibly embarrassed....
