Limo and Kastor win London marathon

LONDON (AFP) — Felix Limo sprinted to lead a Kenyan 1-2 in the men's race as Deena Kastor became the first American to win the women's title at the London marathon.

Both Limo and Kastor were winners of the Chicago marathon last October.

Limo won a sprint finish after 2hr 06min 38sec to come in two seconds ahead of countryman Martin Lel, last year's winner, after a dash for the line over the final 200 metres.

South Africa's Hendrik Ramaala matched his third place finish from last year 16 seconds off the pace with Ethiopian legend Haile Gebrselassie falling off the pace in the final four kilometres to place ninth.
