MIAMI (AFP) — The US government said it has joined a lawsuit against Abbott Laboratories, claiming the pharmaceutical company vastly inflated prices for drugs reimbursed under federal healthcare programs.
The governments complaint filed in Miami alleges that Abbott's Hospital Products Division (HPD) reported prices that were more than 10 times the actual sales prices on many of the drugs it manufactures, since at least 1991.
