Kewell may play in final World Cup warm-up game, says coach

SYDNEY (AFP) — Harry Kewell may play in Australia's final warm-up match against Liechtenstein five days before the team's World Cup opener with Japan, team officials have said.

Kewell is recovering from a groin muscle injury, which forced him to miss Australia's 1-0 win over European champions Greece in Melbourne last week and more than likely against world No.3 Netherlands in Rotterdam on Sunday.

The Liverpool striker-midfielder completed a series of successful hour-long drills late on Tuesday at Australia's training camp in Mierlo, near Eindhoven, press reports said Thursday.

"Harry's not far away," Socceroos assistant coach Graham Arnold told Australian reporters in Mierlo Thursday.

"He's running at 85, 90 percent. He's maybe one, two days off...
