Pfizer faces fresh lawsuits over Lipitor

NEW YORK (AFP) — Two men filed personal injury suits against Pfizer, accusing the US pharmaceutical giant of concealing serious health risks associated with its blockbuster anti-cholesterol drug Lipitor.
The suits, filed in New York Supreme Court, alleged that Pfizer promoted Lipitor as a safe drug, while failing to warn of more dangerous side-effects.
The plaintiffs in the case are Charles Wilson, 60, a former insurance executive, and Michael Mazzariello, 47, an attorney from New York.
Both men claim using Lipitor resulted in irreversible health problems, including nerve damage and memory loss.
