Paraguayans were unlucky: Ruiz

FRANKFURT (AFP) — Paraguay coach Anibal Ruiz has said his side were unlucky to go down 1-0 to England in their Group B World Cup opener.
England skipper David Beckham's deflected freekick by captain Carlos Gamarra was enough to land England the points but Paraguay gave as good as they got and Ruiz thought the South American side should have got something out of the game.
"We were unlucky," insisted Ruiz after Gamarra inadvertently nodded in Beckham's free kick.
"We were unable to grab a goal and let one through by mistake. And our goalkeeper got injured," Ruiz said referring to Justo Villar limping off in the early stages.
In the second half, Paraguay were arguably the better side but England held on, though Ruiz said his men fought hard.
