Hopkins earns lopsided unanimous decision over Tarver

ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey (AFP) — Bernard Hopkins dominated Antonio Tarver to earn a lopsided 12-round unanimous decision in their light heavyweight showdown.
Hopkins, the 41-year-old former middleweight world champion who was coming off consecutive losses to Jermain Taylor, was more than a 3-1 underdog entering what he has said will be his last fight.
If it was his final contest, he went out with a flourish against the former undisputed light heavyweight champion, whose only remaining belt is that of the little known International Boxing Organization.
Hopkins knocked down Tarver once and frustrated him throughout.
All three judges scored the bout 118-109 for Hopkins, who improved to 47-4-1, while Tarver fell to 24-4.
