TORONTO (AFP) — Toronto Raptors forward Pape Sow of Senegal had a successful neck operation to repair a fracture of the vertebrae.
Sow, 24, suffered the injury Tuesday during a team practice in preparation for off-season training games in Las Vegas.
No timetable for Sow's return has been set after the surgery, which was performed by orthopedic spine surgeon Jaswinder Grover and neurosurgeon Albert Capanna in Las Vegas on Thursday evening.
Sow played in 42 games last season, scoring 3.5 points and grabbing 3.5 rebounds in 14 minutes a game for the Raptors.
