Rafter, Sabatini set for Hall of Fame induction

NEWPORT, United States (AFP) — Australian star Pat Rafter and Argentina legend Gabriela Sabatini will be inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame at ceremonies here Saturday.
Former world number one Rafter won the US Open in 1997 and 1998 and took 11 ATP singles titles in 12 seasons. He played Davis Cup from 1994 through 2001 and becomes the 24th Aussie in the Hall of Fame.
"Im absolutely delighted," Rafter said. "Its one of the greatest honours in tennis and I am looking forward to the induction."
Sabatini, whose 1990 US Open crown was the first Grand Slam singles title for an Argentine woman, won 27 WTA singles titles and spent 10 years in a row ranked in the WTA top 10.
She won the 1988 Olympic silver medal.
