STOCKHOLM (AFP) — Ericsson says it expects to win 100 percent of a major order from Brazilian operator Vivo to build a new GSM network in the South American state.

"They were expected to announce it today. I assume we have won 100 percent when it comes," Ericsson chief executive Carl-Henric Svanberg told reporters after the company presented its second quarter earnings report.

"We haven't seen anything ourselves," he added Friday.

Svanberg did not say how much the order was worth, but according to Swedish media reports it is worth many billions of Swedish kronor. One kronor is worth 0.13 dollars.

Vivo is South America's largest telecommunications operator, and is the Brazilian joint venture of Portugal Telecom SGPS and Telefonica Moviles SA.
