Ouija Board puts Goldrun in a spin

GOODWOOD, England (AFP) — Great English mare Ouija Board has won the sixth Group One race of her career winning a thrilling duel with last year's winner Alexander Goldrun to take the Nassau Stakes.
The 2004 Breeders Cup Filly and Mares champion looked to be beaten Saturday in the final furlong but Frankie Dettori summoned a final burst out of the five-year-old even money favourite to just edge the Irish filly (9/2) on the wire.
Her victory by 'half a flared nostril' as the commentator put it earned her a standing ovation - as did Alexander Goldrun - and three cheers from the crowd as the Ed Dunlop trained star returned to the winners enclosure.
