Britain's transport minister admits he was a speed demon 'sinner'

LONDON (AFP) — British Transport Minister Stephen Ladyman admitted he had racked up a string of penalty points for driving too fast -- as he called for possible reductions to the speed limits.
Self-confessed "sinner" Ladyman said he was one manoeuvre away from being run off the road completely by the police due to his speed demon past.
The 53-year-old, who cruises around in a red Alfa Romeo GT, clocked up nine penalty points for speeding offences -- three points or one offence short of earning a driving ban.
But his endorsements have expired with time and Ladyman is keeping his foot off the gas having seen the error of his ways.
He told BBC television he was a "sinner who repenteth" and his experiences had caused him to go down the cautious driving...
