Magical Ribery inspires Marseille to first win

PARIS (AFP) — France World Cup star Franck Ribery celebrated his midweek decision to stay at Marseille by inspiring his team to a 2-0 win over Rennes at the Stade Velodrome.
Ribery, whose 'will he, won't he leave' saga has dominated the French media since the end of the World Cup, danced through the Rennes defence before clipping a delightfully weighted pass into the path of substitute Toifilou Maoulida to wrap up the victory five minutes from time.
Having twice previously stated his intention to leave the Mediterranean club, Ribery pledged his future to Marseille in midweek, after coming on as a substitute in their UEFA Cup 3-3 draw at Young Boys Berne.
And he proved his commitment to the cause in dramatic fashion, turning on the style as Marseille opened...
