Doping cases could have negative effect on sponsors say IAAF

BRUSSELS (AFP) — The succession of recent high profile doping cases in athletics could have a fallout on the sport's sponsors a source from the sport's governing body the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) told AFP. Revelations that Olympic and world 100 metres champion Justin Gatlin and Sydney Olympics triple gold medallist and former golden girl Marion Jones had tested positive for testosterone and EPO respectively have rocked the sport.
However while the IAAF source said that he feared the effect these scandals would have on the sponsors he did not think that it would have the same fallout with the spectators. "I am more concerned about the fallout these revelations will have on sponsors than the effect it will have on the spectators," he told AFP...
