Credit Suisse to recruit up to 4,000 staff for Asia operations

ZURICH (AFP) — Switzerland's second-biggest banking group Credit Suisse said it plans to add up to 4,000 employees to double its staff for Asian operations over the next two years. The extra staff will work in back-office operations, investment banking, asset management, and private banking, a spokesman said, confirming a report in the Financial Times.
The bank's chief executive Oswald Grubel told the paper that Credit Suisse was seeking to develop its presence in Asia, including China's domestic brokerage market. "It will be important for China to have the international expertise to help develop its domestic brokerage market.
