NEW YORK (AFP) — Police have caught one of the FBI's "Ten Most Wanted Fugitives," in the shootings of three New York State troopers, when bloodhounds cornered him in a cornfield in Pennsylvania. "At 8:00 tonight, Bucky Phillips ... could run but he could not hide," New York State police superintendent Wayne Bennett told reporters after a five-month manhunt, which began when the career criminal broke out of jail with a can opener.

A visibly relieved Bennett, wearing a trooper's wide-brimmed Stetson hat, fielded reporters' questions standing before dozens of uniformed police who helped corner Ralph "Bucky" Phillips.
