Everton wary of derby come-down

LIVERPOOL, England (AFP) — David Moyes has warned his Everton players that their stunning derby triumph over Liverpool will mean nothing if they fail to beat Wigan Athletic. Last weekend's 3-0 win over their local rivals stretched Everton's unbeaten start to four games and they could go top of the Premiership if they take three points at Goodison Park.
But the record books indicate that Everton have often come down with a bump from the euphoria induced by derby wins. When Kevin Campbell's goal earned them a 1-0 win at Anfield in September 1999, Everton went nine matches without another victory. And eight games passed before they managed another success after beating Liverpool 2-0 in October 1997. More recently under Moyes, they managed just one win in their next four outings...
