Pauleta power saves the day for PSG

PARIS (AFP) — A Pauleta brace seconds apart helped provide some rare cheer for ailing Paris Saint Germain in their 3-1 French League Cup win over Lorient. Held to a goalless draw by Derry City in the UEFA Cup last week and perched just four points off the relegation zone in the French first division PSG badly needed a pick me up in this last 32 tie.
But it was Lorient, trounced by Lyon last weekend, took control when Rahmane Barry fired them into a 26th minute lead. Captain Pauleta put PSG back into the game with a 58th minute equaliser and the former Portugal striker fired the hosts in front two minutes later. A dazed Lorient barely had time to come to terms with the PSG skipper's antics when he laid the ball on to Fabrice Pancrate to add the home side's third seconds...
