Fulham boss Coleman backs life ban for taking bungs

LONDON (AFP) — Fulham manager Chris Coleman has supported European football's governing body UEFA who say anyone convicted of receiving money illegally in transfer dealings should be banned for life. A television programme last week claimed several people in the sport were guilty of receiving these "bungs" and the BBC was due to meet with Football Association officials on Monday to discuss handing over evidence from the Panorama investigation.

"The game is being tarred at the moment by the stigma of bungs, which are very difficult to prove," Coleman said. "We all get paid enough anyway without having to take a bung, so if it can be proved someone has taken one then I agree they should be kicked out forever - and that's that.
