Too early to draw conclusions: Schumacher

SUZUKA, Japan (AFP) — Michael Schumacher said it was too early to draw any conclusions after Italian Giancarlo Fisichella topped the times in opening practice for Sunday's Japanese Grand Prix. The retirement-bound seven-times champion, who leads this year's title race by the narrowest of margins, wound up third behind Renault driver Fisichella and his own Ferrari team-mate Brazilian Felipe Massa.

"We have only got a flavour of the situation after this session, so it is hard to judge anything at all," said Schumacher, 37. "We got a little bit of a picture, but not much more. "I cannot tell you exactly what we can judge of the others, because it is too early as we need to analyse the data. I was in the car a lot so I could not see the others much. But everything was normal."...
