Poorly-performing Kenyan cricketers headed for boot training

NAIROBI (AFP) — Struggling to recover from last month's disastrous loss to Bangladesh, Kenya's cricket players will this week undergo an intensive three-day boot training camp to prepare for future tournaments, officials said. The team-building exercise scheduled to start on Tuesday, the first ever for the national team, will be held on ranges near Mount Kenya in the country's central region, where the 22 players will be introduced on how survive in the wild.

"It is meant to get the players mentally and physically fit," Cricket Kenya (CK) chief executive Tom Tikolo told AFP. "They are going to be together during the period and we are hoping to build a lot more responsibility in their teamwork."
